Renault Trucks showcased its latest all-electric models designed for waste and recycling tasks at the Resource & Waste Management Expo (RWM) 2023. The lineup, including the new 26-tonne E-Tech D Wide with innovative features, addresses the industry’s pursuit of net-zero targets and compliance with Low Emission Zones.

Renault Trucks marked its presence at the Resource & Waste Management Expo (RWM) held on September 13-14, 2023, at the NEC Birmingham. The focus of Renault Trucks’ participation was on its all-electric lineup tailored for waste and recycling operations, aligning with the goals of achieving net-zero targets.

At the event, Renault Trucks introduced its new 26-tonne E-Tech D Wide 6x2 low entry cab. This model features a bus-style folding door and a low step height, designed to facilitate easy entry and exit for crews engaged in demanding multi-stop urban cycles. The folding doors, in particular, enhance safety as they fold into the cab, eliminating the risk of obstructing the road or pavement.

The E-Tech D Wide LEC is equipped with full air suspension both at the front and rear, ensuring stability and comfort during operations. It also incorporates a kneel function that further reduces the entry and exit height, enhancing overall comfort for the crew.

Alongside this model, Renault Trucks showcased a 26-tonne E-Tech D Wide LEC 6x2 with conventional door opening to 90 degrees. This vehicle is built on a 3,900mm wheelbase and is equipped with a Dennis Eagle Olympus 21W body and Terberg OmniDEL Xtra Low Level Split Automatic Bin Lift.

Both vehicles are configured to accommodate one driver and three operatives, featuring easy cross-cab access and ample onboard storage space. They are powered by Renault Trucks’ latest 375kWh E-Tech traction batteries, comprising four battery packs of 94kW each located in the wheelbase. The twin motors deliver 260kW continuously and peak at 370kW, offering a torque output of 850Nm. These larger battery packs offer up to 40% more capacity compared to previous models.

Additionally, Renault Trucks exhibited an 18-tonne Renault Trucks E-Tech D 4x2 model with a 3,900mm wheelbase, mounted with a Hyva 2012XL skip loader body. This vehicle is powered by 265kWh traction batteries, consisting of four battery packs of 66kW each, and features a reduction gearbox with two forward speeds and one reverse, along with a single reduction final drive axle with an integral differential lock for enhanced traction on challenging terrains.
