The Lion Electric Company introduced the Lion8 Tractor, an all-electric Class 8 commercial truck, at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo.

“The Lion8 Tractor meets the demands of modern freight transportation, combining performance, efficiency, and environmental sustainability,” said Marc Bedard, CEO-Founder of Lion at the launch of the truck. ”Our electric vehicles are central to our vision for a sustainable future.”

The truck features a 6x4 axle configuration with two integrated 2-speed eAxles for optimised power distribution and efficiency. The cab-forward design enhances driver visibility and manoeuvrability, setting a new standard for electric freight transportation, claims the company. The Lion8 Tractor includes a high-energy-density 750V battery system and is Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) compatible. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and an onboard weighing system further enhance safety and operational efficiency.
