Scania prides itself with being the first manufacturer in the industry to set science-based targets in line with the Paris Agreement. Ahead of COP27 Scania has announced a call for action alongside the other CEO Climate Leaders with an open letter.

Scania and its allies urge others to establish science-based targets in accordance with the Paris Agreement, collaborate within and across sectors and value chains to drive transparency, advocacy, and action in alliances and initiatives, and contribute to the development of internationally harmonised reporting standards.

The Swedish manufacturer noted that governments need to, set bold ambitions and follow through on commitments and accelerate the transition.

Scania will be in Egypt during COP27 to discuss with world leaders, government officials, and civil society representatives how we can work together to address the climate crisis.

Together with its allies, the OEM encourages all business leaders to set science-based targets to cut global emissions in half by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050.
