Leading fleet optimisation specialist Optimize has partnered with one of the world’s leading sports transportation specialists to deliver the All-England Lawn Tennis Club a clean and efficient transport solution for this year’s Wimbledon Championships, set to commence at the beginning of July.

Six Degrees Transport, formerly Blacc Events Ltd, has provided transport planning and delivery for some of the world’s most revered sporting events – including the previous eight Olympic Games, four FIFA World Cups and several Wimbledon Championships – and has turned to Optimize to help drive down carbon emissions during this year’s tournament.

“Our partnership with Optimize for this year’s tournament will enable us to significantly impact our carbon footprint from the event,” said John Fryer, Director at Six Degrees Transport. “We are making over 20,000 trips during the course of the tournament, involving the transportation of players, staff, coaches and visitors shared between 180 vehicles. Optimize’s unique offering ensures the transport and operational delivery process will be carried out seamlessly and efficiently by reducing mileage and CO2 emissions.”

“We are delighted to join forces with Six Degrees Transport, to deliver an optimised transport solution on behalf of the All-England Lawn Tennis Club for this year’s Wimbledon tournament,” explained Natalie Hughes, Director of Partnerships and Corporate Accounts, Optimize. “With climate change and Net Zero at an all-time high on the global agenda, we recognise businesses and organisations need to actively think about how best to carry out operations in the most environmentally friendly and carbon neutral way possible.”

Optimize specialises in the operational transformation of fleets by harnessing cutting-edge algorithms and artificial intelligence to deliver environmental and efficiency improvements.

“Our route optimisation algorithms deliver tangible and impactful reductions to our customers’ fuel and carbon consumption – helping to drive fleet productivity, safety and environmental improvements,” added Hughes. “Working with Six Degrees’ Transport is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate how vehicle and journey optimisation will not only impact the carbon footprint for this year’s Wimbledon Tennis tournament, but also deliver similar solutions for future sporting events across the globe.”
