Renault Trucks 2022 business results reveal accelerated transition to electric mobility

 The year 2022 has been a remarkable year for Renault Trucks, as the company cements its position as a key player in the electric mobility sector.

With the opening of an assembly line for Kleuster cargo bikes at its Lyon site, the manufacturer is now capable of offering a complete last-mile distribution solution. Furthermore, Renault Trucks has produced over 1,000 medium-duty electric trucks at its Blainville-sur-Orne plant, while holding 24.2% of registrations in the electric MHDV market in Europe. In France, the company holds a 75% market share in the electric MHDV market, says the company.

Renault Trucks has also invoiced 268 Renault Trucks E-Tech Master electric light commercial vehicles and 379 Renault Trucks E-Tech D and D Wide trucks in 2022. The company’s commitment to decarbonised mobility has been highlighted by the 4 million km its customers’ electric trucks have traveled, saving 3,200 tonnes of CO2.

In 2022, many transport companies and local authorities chose Renault Trucks to help them switch to electric trucks. XPO in France announced an order for 100 electric trucks, while the City of Barcelona purchased 73 Renault Trucks BEVs for waste collection and street cleaning. Coca-Cola operates 30 Renault Trucks electric trucks for last-mile deliveries to its customers in Belgium, and Sepur has just put 18 Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide into service to collect household waste from the entire 13th arrondissement of Paris.

Renault Trucks’ electric vehicle sales are set to continue growing in 2023, the manufacturer will start producing electric heavy-duty trucks, the Renault Trucks E-Tech T for regional distribution and Renault Trucks E-Tech C for urban construction, at its Bourg-en-Bresse plant in France at the end of the year.
