Einride announces its entry into the German market

Einride, a logistics and technology business that offers digital, electric, and autonomous shipping, has announced its entry into the German market. Einride has secured a number of local partners, including global appliance manufacturer Electrolux, in connection with the formal launch in the territory.

“Germany is in the driving seat of Europe; where it goes others follow suit,” said Robert Falck, Founder and CEO of Einride. “We have the opportunity and technology to bring the biggest change to the freight industry since the invention of the internal combustion engine and are ready to join forces with local partners to make transportation history.”

Einride launches in Germany with Electrolux link-up

Einride helps firms to move goods from point A to point B in a smart, green, and cost-effective manner through its freight mobility platform Einride Saga, electric and autonomous fleets, and charging and communication networks. It already has a big fleet of heavy-duty electric vehicles in Sweden and the United States, where Einride collaborates with industry titans like Lidl Sweden, Maersk, and Oatly. Following a successful cooperation in Sweden, operations with Electrolux are projected to lower CO2 emissions by 92% when compared to driving with diesel. Other Einride partners have witnessed a similar decline while maintaining fuel prices.

“The German road freight sector is facing its biggest challenge to date – with rising fuel and energy costs, a driver shortage and the government demanding emissions be cut in half by 2030,” said Robert Ziegler, General Manager Europe of Einride. “We know that through digitalisation, automation and electrification we can dramatically reduce costs, delivery times and emissions. Now it’s time for German shippers to adopt a new generation of freight technology and future-proof their business.”

Einride will first establish a regional office in Berlin. Aside from the German capital, logistics hubs in Hamburg and the Ruhr Area will be created. To allow consumers and partners to effortlessly electrify vehicles, a charging grid will be developed throughout Germany’s most significant commercial routes and surrounding trade regions.

In a recent interview with Freight Carbon Zero for our podcast, the company hinted it was working with a number of UK companies, expect further announcements soon.
