Vantec adopts low-emission approach with new HVO-Powered DAF XF trucks

Sunderland-based logistics provider Vantec is taking steps towards reducing its carbon footprint with the introduction of seven new DAF XF tractors running on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO). Supplied by TIP Group, these trucks are expected to produce 90% less CO2 compared to conventional diesel-powered trucks.

Chris Bain, General Manager (Transport, Facilities, and Operations) at Vantec, expressed delight at the expansion of their fleet into the north-west of the UK with these new HVO trucks. It marks the first time Vantec has incorporated HVO trucks, and the company looks forward to the benefits of low emissions they will offer. The partnership with TIP has facilitated this move towards Vantec’s long-term goal of becoming a zero-emissions logistics provider by 2050.

Alongside the DAF XFs, Vantec will also take delivery of two 18-tonne DAF rigids in the upcoming months, all supplied by TIP. In addition, Vantec has acquired 16 new SDC Freespan ENXL curtainsided trailers, featuring steel-reinforced heavy-duty floors and custom curtain tie backs. These trailers are designed to reduce damage when loading steel stillage and streamline loading and unloading processes. Supplied on repair and maintenance contracts, these additions will support Vantec’s operations at its site in Winsford, Cheshire.
