Chris Douglas
Chris Douglas, BA Hons, FCILT, boasts a 30-year career in road freight, including managing haulage and tanker fleets. Following a 5-year stint with the Freight Transport Association (now Logistics UK) in compliance and policy advisory roles, he shifted to consultancy. For two decades, his focus has centered on freight sustainability, fleet decarbonization, and urban freight management. Chris led the DfT's Freight Best Practice Programme, advised on the SAFED HGV Programme, initiated the ECO Stars Fleet Recognition Scheme, and introduced Smart Transport Manager Training internationally via the Smart Freight Centre. His consultancy spans public and private sector clients across the UK, Europe, China, South East Asia, Africa, and South America. He's deeply committed to enhancing operator efficiency in the journey toward decarbonization and advocates for investment in Transport Manager skills and development. Chris serves as a Director at Polaris Consultancy Group Ltd.
