Sparks Transport has taken delivery of a Volvo FM Electric 4x2 tractor unit following a successful trial period with their local Volvo dealer’s electric demonstrator.

The delivery, facilitated by Russell Woof, Area Sales Manager for Truck and Bus Wales and West, sees Sparks Transport adding it’s first electric truck to it’s fleet.The new tractor unit will primarily serve in delivering Refresco beverages to Tesco stores.

The FM Electric, kitted out in Sparks Transport’s distinct green and yellow livery, boasts three electric motors producing 666 hp and 2,400 Nm of continuous torque. With six batteries installed, it offers a driving range of approximately 300 km.

Featuring an onboard electromobility traction control system to handle slippery surfaces and various drive modes for customizable performance, comfort, and energy usage, the new addition underscores Sparks Transport’s commitment to embracing sustainable transportation solutions.
