The company’s new electric truck, a Volvo FE Electric, is now operational and serving on a local collection and delivery schedule from its depots in Wimblington and Wisbech.

Knowles Transport initially conducted a three-week trial of the Volvo FE Electric to assess its viability within the fleet. The trial received a positive response from drivers, and concerns about range were alleviated. Consequently, Knowles Transport decided to invest in the 19-tonne electric vehicle, along with a 150kWh supercharger capable of recharging the vehicle within two hours.

“This is Knowles putting our money where our mouth is,” explained Alex Knowles, Managing Director, Knowles Transport. ”There are plenty out there marketing their sustainability credentials without backing it up with investment, but Knowles is not one of them. We are really excited about this step into the future we are making with our new Volvo FE Electric.”
