Einride partners with the world’s leading brewer, AB InBev, to lead electric transport transformation in Benelux

Einride, a freight mobility technology firm that offers digital, electric, and autonomous transportation, announced its Benelux debut today in collaboration with the world’s largest brewer, AB InBev. The agreement is projected to minimise CO2 emissions by 500 tonnes per year using Einride’s completely electric fleet of linked heavy duty vehicles.

“Benelux is the beating heart of Europe and the place to drive change across the European Union,” said Robert Falck, CEO and Founder of Einride. “In the last ten years, the union has cut greenhouse gas emissions in every sector but transport, which has only increased, with road freight transport remaining by far the biggest emitter. It’s high time to take action in order to achieve the target of halving emissions by 2030. With our industry leading technology that has been electric from the start we look forward to contributing to substantial emission reductions so that Europe can take the lead in the global race to net zero.”

The partnership will begin with the full deployment of Einride’s ecosystem, which comprises its freight mobility platform, six connected electric Einride Trucks, and the development, installation, and construction of charging infrastructure. The vehicles will be used in the Leuven and Brussels districts, contributing to the company’s goal of reaching net zero across its supply chain by 2040.

“We only invest in non-diesel transport and are going for zero in our emissions. As we are starting the broad deployment of electric vehicles for city deliveries next year, the partnership with Einride for electric heavy duty transportation on the middle mile is the next step in our green logistics strategy. If the environment we operate in becomes greener, the ingredients for our beer will benefit,” said Philippe Seminck, Logistics Director Benelux and France, AB InBev.

Einride is already unlocking a robust, cost-effective shipping future by constructing grids powered by a first-of-its-kind ecosystem – the intelligence platform Einride Saga, electric and autonomous ships, charging infrastructure, and connection networks. Einride’s clients in these areas include industry titans like as Electrolux and GE Appliances, a Haier business. Einride partners have reduced CO2 emissions by up to 90% while maintaining cost competitive.

The collaboration with AB InBev in Belgium is only the beginning of Einride’s growth into the area, where it soon hopes to make an even greater contribution to the redesign of the transportation industry by adding other clients in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
