Volta Trucks unveils Truck as a Service Hub in Tottenham, London

Volta Trucks has celebrated the official opening of its Truck as a Service Hub in Tottenham, London.

Attended by distinguished guests, including Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, and David Lammy, Member of Parliament for Tottenham, the launch of the new facility marks a significant step in Volta trucks’ on-going UK development. The White Hart Lane in Tottenham, North London, the facility is the first of its kind for Volta in the UK and will serve as a central hub for routine servicing and maintenance of electric vehicles in the London area. The Truck as a Service Hub offers support to fleet operators, aiding their transition to electric trucks. In addition to servicing capabilities, the facility includes administrative offices, a Volta Trucks Academy Training center, and a customer call centre providing round-the-clock assistance and technical support.

With the opening of the London Hub, Volta Trucks’ presence in the UK has grown significantly. The company now employs over 600 highly skilled individuals across various departments, including engineering, software and development, based in in the Midlands, and commercial operations, based in Reading. 

“Zero-emission freight is an area which has been considered a significant barrier in the shift to decarbonising road transport. I’m delighted to support Volta Trucks, who have recently launched the London trial of their first fully electric heavy goods vehicle (HGV).” said Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. “The new Volta Zero vehicle is the future of London’s freight – world-leading in terms of green technology, while also meeting the highest safety standard which can be awarded to an HGV.”

It is vital to have these next generation of trucks on our roads to improve road safety and air quality with the workforce in place to support them.” added Tottenham MP, David Lammy.
