The collaboration aims to leverage ZF’s expertise to support Volta trucks’ ambitious pace to market and commitment to climate protection and sustainability.

The Volta Zero will incorporate several ZF technologies specifically designed for commercial vehicle use. These include advanced systems such as the OnGuardACTIVE Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS), Electronic Braking System (EBS), ESCsmart Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and OnHand Electro-Pneumatic Handbrake (EPH). Additionally, ZF provides the OnLaneALERT Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and components for the steering system, such as the steering column and steering gear.

The collaboration also introduces the innovative independent front suspension (IFS) axle system sourced from ZF. This system supports the Volta Zero by ensuring a low cabin for easy access and improved driver vision, while also enhancing ride comfort, vehicle handling, and maneuverability. ZF’s OptiRide Electronically Controlled Air Suspension (ECAS) system further assists in daily vehicle operations, offering automatic and manual chassis height adjustments for improved driver safety, efficiency, and comfort during docking and loading procedures.
